Limit you can sit back in your recliner, sipping mocha de grande enjoying the slight afternoon breeze whilst reminiscing about your childhood.

"Getting a job has pretty low variance "

some people do get let go (re: fired) from their jobs.
Even after moving half-way across the country and setting up a new life there.

I think the variance is actually a little bit closer than many people think.

Yep. Nothing more relaxing than playing 8-10 tables 40 hrs per week. I've only been out of work for half a year and I almost don't hate poker now. I took about 2 months of that off too.

I broke even over about 10,000 hands though and have heard monster variance stories [800 BB downswings].

[/ QUOTE ]
Whoa--in your first 10,000 hands you had more two (or more) 800 bb downswing and kept playing? Take limit 6max off your list.

I'm retarded--I misread "heard" as "had."

I know that it was only 15,000 hands, but if u can beat 5/10 full for 3.5/100 ur a [censored] bad ass and should be a winner at any level.

I have no doubt I can beat most games out there. It's just a question of how difficult/how much effort their profitability and factoring in variance.

STT's are good but I hate how you have to play them in sets. You can't auto-post out anytime you want to, you actually have to sit there for almost a full hour after you want to get up and finish the tables you still have going.

Theres no way I was beating 5/10 for a full 3.5, just had a very good run. I've heard some good stories about 15/30 on party, so I think im going to grind my bankroll a little bit higher and head there. Give it a shot.

Yeah, let me second that. But I still think the variance is lower in a job, at least dor any decent company.

Never had a Fort. 500 fail to pay me, nor *lose* money after working a month.

That said, there are other PITAs involved, to be sure.

If you can win at all three types why the need to specialize?

I would have thought one of the problems of playing lots of hands or lots of sng's all of the same type is burnout and boredom.

Why not play different hype of HE on different days or different sessions within the days you play?

This means you are in a better position if one type of game dries up and rounds you more as a HE player overall.
