I made it to round 2.

Played TAG, and pushed small edges. Got lucky and doubled my stack a few times and hung around long enough to advance.

I've tried 3-4 times in Rd 1, but by "try" I mean push any two facecards. I got up to 4500 the other day by hand 5 or so but lost 3k of it with AQs vs 99. Win that and I'm probably on to Rd 2 after 6 hands. Oh well, I'll keep [censored] around as I see them registering.

Any sense of how many chips were needed to just fold into qualifying for the next round? It seems like they often start these at times when I've only got 2-3 hours to play and they last about 4 hours, so I'm trying to figure out what kind of stack I need to luckbox my way into to leave and still qualify.

I was pretty deep in the $5 rebuy and in one of these round 1's and got knocked out of the $5 rebuy, and since this round 1 was the only tournament I had left before going to bed, I started jamming every hand (and I was 19th out of 121 players). Now after a few other attempts, I really regret not playing it out. I just knew it would be at least another hour of playing nothing but a freeroll.

I played another one last night and got to the last 1900 people when I ran my aces into K7 with about an average stack. He flops a 7 and (i guess) assumes I'm bluffing, get it all in on the turn, and he proceeds to river a King.

I agree with the fact of If you can get to about 6k early you will be alright. But this being the only way to qualify is extremely frustrating. I would rather put up 100 FPPs to get 50 seats from 1000 people, but damn. I guess I'll just keep trying.
