However...maybe saddest thing of all time is the dog waiting for Fry in that Futurama episode. I can't even watch the whole thing.

For me, nothing gets me like the end of Schindler's List. Both the end of the movie and when they're all together afterward.

OT: In case you didn't know Futurama is coming back for 13 more episodes starting in 2008.

The final scenes of Unberto D are pretty hard going.

"I coulda been a contender", On The Waterfront, also has to be up there.

Dancer in the Dark's last scene.

Dead Poet Society, when Robin Williams leaves.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of great (likely better) scenes.

While not as bad as the book, the end of Where the Red Fern Grows is pretty rough.

I didn't know they made a movie out of this. I remember my 5th grade teacher reading this book to us. She couldn't finish the last chapter because she was crying too much. I was the first one she looked at and she made read the last 7-8 pages to the class.

The endings that immediately came to my mind were Of Mice and Men and Dead Poets Society.

Nice choice, and now you must see The Umbrellas of Cherbourg from which was taken the melody for the song used in the episode (the lyrics were added later).
