You could try switching your main game. I had something similar happen to me, and it turned out I was just sick of hold 'em. I started playing a lot of omaha instead and it fixed it. Now I can play hold em again, and am a better all around player.

painkillers help with tilt, seriously.

these people are recommending prozac or crap for depression... take 3 vicodin and you won't tilt. Take some morphine and you definitely won't tilt.

Kurosh, you're the Prince of Persia dude, you're above tilt. Why tilt? It's pointless. Why the hell am I gonna get all angry cause I lost or someone played bad and won. I'm not talking about the his mistakes make you money blahblahblahblah. I'm talking about who gives a crap. He sucks, good for him. I could really care less. I mean I wanna win all the time, but losing happens. If it happens a lot you maybe get down a little depressed, but angry? Why? What for? Who are you angry at? The site isn't rigged, there is no mystical power against you. The cards fell lame, you lost money. It sucks. Watch a porn, drink a soda, watch a movie, 5 mins later you could care less (except the missing money part, gimme that damn money).

I think Tommy Angelo is too anti-tilt quasi-religion, but he had a good point. Why do you have to react to something in a certain way? Just remember, you're #1. That's all that matters, everything else comes afterwards. Someone tries to rile you up, [censored] that! I got better stuff to do the waste an hour being mad at some douchebag. There are new hot chicks, movies, video games, and porns coming out everyday. Who has time to waste being tilty?

Next time you feel that tilt a brewing just remember. You're #1. Everyone else comes afterwards! Why do you have to react the way he wants? Try reacting in a different way, rub your head and pat your stomach, go take a dump, who cares. The only huge advantage people have over you in higher games is riling you up to play bad. Going on the tilt makes as much sense as the bluff call. Just remember YOURE #1, [censored] THEM!. You got stuff to do, money to make, parties to crash, whatever.

There are only 2 things worth being angry over, letting yourself down, and friends or family betraying you. Even those two could probably be dropped. Imagine how awesome it would be to never tilt. (Hang a picture of me on your wall). Imagine how ashamed you feel everytime you tilt. (Load up pokertracker). So why are you still tilting?

Don't get too down about your psychological weaknesses; no one is perfect, everybody has some sort issue(s) at one time or another. The interesting thing is that serious gamblers may be more apt to resolve the problems (at least the ones that directly affect gambling performance).

One thing that might help is saying out what you are doing when you play, verbally justifying it to yourself. seems to help me.

I don't understand it. I keep trying to stop, but it's only getting worse. Now, I even tilt when I win.

I took a barrage of sick beats and ended up down 10k at the end of my session. Then the typical mega-tilt set in.

Well, 10k is a lot and the beats were bad. However, I am still up a lot this week. Why can't I be happy with that? No matter how much I am up, as soon as I hit a decent downswing, I lose it. Even the next day, I sit down thinking I am ok and after the first beat I get too tilty.

So... help??? I've been through an anger management course and none of their techniques have ever helped me with tilting. I can control my anger - that isn't the issue. I can't control the moving up and the occasional bad play.

maybe you can send me 1k to feel better about yourself?

anyway here is my story and if you would like to send me some money to start grinding the 254 then fire ahead... consider it 1buying suckout but you would be helping a budding supperstr!!

"Hi

First time poster but long time lurker here. I have SOME experience with both nlhe and lhe cash game playing live once a week. I would now like to try and do a challenge by depositing a set amount of money and maybe triple it up without ever redepositing out of my own pocket.

I would like to start playing 25nl with about 40 buyins MINIMUM. I feel like I can hold my own when I play some home games HU and I am generally very taglag but would sometimes get stacked by a donk with his turned 2 pair or some crap.

I know general concept like betting 3.5 times PF and raising more suited connectors and some smallish pp in LP-BUTTON. Also know to bet 3/4-pot when I have a relatively strong hand on a somewhat drawy board. Now all I have to learn is varying my betting pattern like betting like a twitchy fish to lure in the tags.

My weakness is sometimes I get stacked with TOPPAIR GOOD KICKER but it only happens about 1/6 times(when getting stacked by bad play). For the most pairt I get stacked when getting sucked out. I also hate playing against lag because 1/5 times they tilt me with their bad play.

Im not plannin on making 50000000000$ a month. I just want to deposit 40+ buyins and never put money in ever. If I ever get lucky and make 5k plus monthly then I just consider it a big bonus. ALso, what should I expect when I start playing online poker in terms of winrate.

I would like to know what you guys think about my baby step plan? I would also love it if you can link some good 6max nl posts that are worth reading and rereading.

KTHANKS "

I don't think he has to see a Psychiatrist, he just wants to win more money it sounds like to me. Take a break from poker, come back forgetting your bankroll, play lower limits, enjoy the game, and try to see where you might of went wrong that way you will improve when you lose and gain money when you win. This way whatever happens you " gain something " from every game instead of thinking the worst which won't make you think straight, take a break from poker, think about what I've said, and try to implement and stick to it. If that doesn't work, maybe seeing a Psychologist not a Psychiatrist is the answer to try and understand why you are thinking why you are, either way, if you don't start the change, you won't change at all, which means if your not going up, your going down to the rock bottom situation which is the worst situation you could possibly be in, so you have to make the decision.
