You looking for cans, buds, or what? [/ QUOTE ] i don't know. pros/cons for each? i would use these almost exclusively while sitting/laying in my room playing poker. i guess some decent noise cancellation would be good. i have another cheap pair i could use for running/jogging so i guess it doesn't matter too much. |

Re: choose my new headphones bbv
With cans - any good pair will be sealing - you'll definitely get noise reduction. When I'm at work, even if I'm listening to softer, acoustic music, people will have to tap me on the shoulder for me to know they're there. Cans also have superior sound reproduction by far compared to earbuds of similar price.
Buds are good for portability, but if you're not going to be bopping down the street with them, I'd go with cans for sure. RJ PITTM rPMAJSDF is the self-proclaimed headphone guru around here, though, he should give some good suggestions. |

Best ear buds and it's not close IMHO. Made by the company that makes the customs that touring bands use onstage. I listen to things for a living and this is what I use.

Bose QC3's and its not close. [/ QUOTE ] Search a for a recent thread in OOT on Bose for why they are overpriced and overhyped. I've done some research lately since I want to upgrade my shure e3s with the $500 amazon gift card I got from stars. Going to get shure e500s or audio technica ad2000 Both go for $500. I'd recommend shure e4c e4c Best shure for the money, better than the e5c. Or get grado sr60 Very reasonably priced and blow away most $200 headphones. Or sr225 Grados are highly recommended for rock music, some people complain that they aren't that comfortable for long listens. Sennheiser-don't know as much about these, and these may need an amp. Have an excellent reputation for classical music. 580 |
