Not really.
The Nazis harmed the innocent. The Plaestinians are not innocent.

Ethnic cleansing Gaza and the West Bank of Arabs punishes the guilty who have supported terrorism. Granted not 100% of 'palestinians' support terrorism support terrorism against Israel but the majority do. As D.MacArther said, "There is no substitute for victory". Israel needs to end the policy of restraint and crush the fledgling palestinian govt, seize that land, kick the Arabs out, and build a wall. The anti-semites of the world will bitch about it but screw them. The palestinians have had NUMEROUS chances for a homeland but they choose the path of war and breaking promises to Israel. There should be a price for starting and losing a war. But the USA has stepped in numerous times force Israel to give back land to the Arabs. The Arabs are like a complusive gambler that makes poor wagers, loses their money, then they cry and the casino is forced to return their money. Time for the Plaestinians to pay a price for their war-mongering. Time for Darwin to step in and let the decadent palestinian 'culture' sink into obscurity. Take Gaza and take the West Bank and give the rest of the world the finger.

Default Re: Israel\'s Attack on Lebanon and Hezbollah

I'm going to avoid the perennial exchange (/altercation) of viewpoints on who the real victims are.

My question is, at what point does Israel fear military defeat? Are they heavy favorites in any regional ground war involving Syria, Iran and perhaps others? If they can't win on the ground, are they able to threaten nuclear destruction? I know they "have the bomb" but I have no idea--does that mean long range missles? many of them? bombs and bombers?

Leave aside, if possible, the possibility of outside intervention from US, Russia, etc. or if not possible to, please explain.

edit: subquestion: would Israel have much difficulty taking over/ taking out Syria entirely if they decided to go for it?

Longest Air combat mission undertaken by Israel to date...

On October 1, 1985 Operation Wooden Leg undertook the bombing of PLO Headquarters in Tunis, Tunisia, the longest combat mission ever undertaken by the IAF: 2300 kilometers, involving in flight refueling by an IAF Boeing 707..

[/ QUOTE ] If israel actually chose to engage syria in a war on syrian soil they could, "take them out" pretty easily. that is to say that they could render the syrian armed forces useless fairly quickly. however, this scenario is highly unlikely. syria will not direclty threaten israel. the closest they come to doing so is allowing exiled hamas members to operate from syrian soil. I'm in damascus now, and a couple days ago a hamas high up in exile gave a speach and got some of the locals pretty fired up. however the syrian military is clownish compared to the israeli's.

Default The reason behind the insanity

[ QUOTE ]
If the United States did not support Israel in the slightest degree would that stop:

The Islamic terrorists in the Phillipines? or
The Islamic terrorists in Thailand? or
The Islamic terrorists in India?

[/ QUOTE ]It's actually very simple.

One day around the late 1960s, there was a seriously damaged quantity of falafel which contained a virus. Millions of muslims ate the falafel and were affected for life. The poison worked its way around the muslim world - see, for no apparent reason, that virus was only affecting muslims. What the rotten falafel did was it caused muslims and especially Arabs to hate the United States' guts.

Until, as we all know, around the early 2000s, when the muslims became REALLY poisoned by the falafel vitus, and started blowing themselves up - in crowded places and airplanes.

The craziness of the muslims, and specially the Arabs, is only because of that mysterious poison in the damn falafel. It's got NOTHING to do with Israel -which minds its own business for the last sixty years- or the United States -which keeps its nose out of the Middle East and has always been a fair and neutral party to any conflicts there.

Regardless of what Israel has the right to do or not etc., isn't Israel/US again being outsmarted by Iran? Iran tries to increase the anti-Israel and anti-US sentiments in the arabian populations to make it hard for the other Arab countries to side against them. In addition this situation makes it easier for Russia, China etc. to more strongly support Iran etc. vs Israel. Israel steps right into their trap, it seems like. Maybe it is an unavoidable trap though?
