I bet into a dry side pot with a complete bluff, playing the board. The only way I could win, is if the all-in guy had a 6 high or less. When I realized what I'd done, I just mucked my hand without showing. Duh.

This has to be the dumbest thing any1's ever done.

Back when I was 17, I had an incredible run of cards, and I managed to turn $300 into almost $3K (I luckboxed it at 15/30 limit).
Then blew it all by playing on.

I remembered one hand where I cold-called a raise in MP with 2 3o, only to have button 3-bet and Original raiser cap preflop, and I cold-called again.
flop came XX2, capped, turn came a 3, capped, and river came another blank. I won with 2pair, 2s and 3s. Button had Kings and the other guy had aces.

I am now good enough *not* to cold-call raises with 2 3 off.

[ QUOTE ]
Inspired by the funniest thing you've ever heard thread

After reading the other thread, I want to see who is man enough to admit to doing some of the dumb things it is centered around. Time to own up, we were all rookies once. Misread your hand? Tried to push in a limit game? Push pocket quads in Omaha? What's the dumbest thing you have personally done in a game? I'll go first....

The other day I jumped on to Paradise to play some $1/2 Limit Omaha/8. The is the only time I can remember picking up AA23 in O/8. The flop hits A67 with two diamionds, I had a total rainbow in my hand. I bet, get 3 calls. The turn brings a club 3, so I start jamming with the nut low and the FH redraw. The diamond hits on the river, so I check/call to get my chop. The whole pot goes the opposite way and I am dumbfounded. I have the hand history emailed to me to see if I misread my hand or what. I looked it over 3 different times before I realized the header "$1/2 Limit Omaha Hi".

Let's hear it................

[/ QUOTE ]You do not have the nut low on the turn, you'd need a deuce and a four.

First venture in to NL 6-max. Pretty much clueless on NL. Wait for my hand. I have JQs. Flop comes JT5. Turn comes a K. Awesome caught my straight. The villian bets 5 (mind you I'm a micros player) I raise, get reraised and call. When the pot gets pushed to him and it says winner with a pair of Kings. WTF?? I had a straight, GD pp. It took me 3 times rereading the HH to figure out I was a moron.

Reaction "But I had a..... ahhh [censored]"

This is a great post. Now If I was only man enough.....

I once was playing with a guy, that your ego starts to kick in(home game)btw. He pushed all in, I flipped over my hand and said I have so little respect for you I am thinking about calling with bottom pair. Someone laughed at the end of the table, ooh ya almost had a straight. I mucked it. Yep of course I had the damn straight 4 cards to it on the board.

D'oh that was a really good lesson in humility.

i folded a full house face up when a fourth spade fell on the river, claiming i knew the other guy had the flush. i was the butt of jokes in my home game for at least a year after that. they haven't brought it up in a long time - but i still think about that hand way more than i should - it was only a $50 pot or something.

I had an hour to kill before going to a friend's wedding. So, I bought into a $5 + $1 limit hold 'em STT. Oops. After 45 minutes, no one had been eliminated, so I had to either ditch the money ($4, $9 or $19), or be late (I'm chip leader).

Worse, I decided to save time by shaving with a crappy electric shaver at the computer. I was late, torn face, stupid, but $9 richer.
