Re: Preflop, whatever.
Okay you keep drawing for flushes heads up and ill play pairs. Do not take everything so literal. What I meant was suited cards have alot more value in multi way pots. When opening in late position in the 30 game most likely it's gonna be heads up. So do you want a nine high or do u want a pair. Someone got it right earlier. 22 is a hand you can check down on the end and still win. 97 SUITED is not a hand u can check down unless u dont like money or you dont want to win the pot. Suited = Overrated in heads up pots. Take the pair man.

Re: Preflop, whatever.
People seem to be ignoring the main variable, which is how often hands go to showdown. In a game where not many showdowns are being seen, 97s is the better hand because it will win more big pots. In a game where many hands are going to showdowns, including a lot of non paired hands, then obviously 22 has more value because it can win showdowns against A high hands.

"the main variable, which is how often hands go to showdown"
that's important, but how often the blinds defend at all is more important. 97s will show more profit if played correctly in this spot. that includes knowing when to give up on the steal as well as knowing when to press every street with 9 high. some players try, especially in games where they perceive their opponents as being too aggressive, and take the 22 to showdown a lot and lose a lot of money doing so. |

Re: Preflop, whatever.
I'm not at home so I don't have access to my PT databases right now. Can some of you filter for these two hands from the CO and see what kind of winrates we get?
