Re: Did I misplay AA here?
Thanks for the info guys. That is basically what I wanted to know. I should have pushed. I was just worried that if I'm already beat, why push? I guess that is a weak play, but it just didn't feel right. Too bad I couldn't have gotten all my money in pre-flop but I can't imagine anyone calling that kind of money at that table.
As for the folks talking about my short stack, I had just come off of a hand where I was dealt KK, raised it $25 folded to a young girl who said "I have a good hand but I should probably fold." Donkey next to her looks at her hand and says "Call him, call him!" I can't believe my ears, dealer doesn't say a word and she calls. I flop top set and she flops a straight draw with her pocket 9's. Hit her straight on the turn and busts me down big time. So that is why I was sitting on $75. Also, someone said to move down to lower stakes, I can't, that is as low as the casino spreads. I profited almost $800 over 3 consecutive sessions earlier in the week, so I'm still building the roll to play. Thanks for the replies, your thoughts are greatly appreciated. |

Verbally announcing "200 behind" to the dealer (make sure he hears you) before the next deal is good as cash if you can't get the $ out of your pocket fast enough.

Re: Did I misplay AA here?
Have you considered playing online until you have the proper roll for the 1/2 game?

Re: Did I misplay AA here?
Why did she bust you?
The only way you could flop a top set and her - straight draw is if the flop came JTK. With top set on such board - you have to bet the pot at least (which i am assuming you didn't since even the biggest donkey wouldn't call a pot sized bet with the ignorant end of a gutshot). Then, the only way she could have made a str8 - is with a Q. Why are you paying her off on a TJQK board? |
