If you had so much money that it would be 'worth it', it wouldn't be necessary to double up anyway.

No. I don't have enough to my name to make it worth it.

and if you did have enough to your name to make it worth it, then it still wouldn't be worth it

I can't think of an amount of money I could own that would make this a gamble I would take. I need better odds. Actually, I probably need MUCH better odds. I do think that there might be a price at which I'd choose to play. Wonder if that says something bad about me.

Okay. I've been asking people a version of this question. Let's say you're offered more money than you can ever spend (I usually use 1 billion dollars). How many chambers must the gun have before you pull the trigger?

I remember this was posted on here some time ago. Many people answered no amount would be enough, but I don't think that's realistic. If 10 chambers were offered, I'd do it in a heartbeat. In fact, I think I'd do it in a regular 6 chamber revolver for a billion dollars. Maybe 5 chambers, but that would be my cut off.

Not the OP's question, but to whats been raised in the discussion that follows.

Assuming I could write a message to family and friends, I think I'd go 1:5 for around $5M.

The price would be lower if I got the money regardless of outcome (i.e. could will the money to be distributed on my death). Probably around $3M i think.

I'd pull the trigger twice for around $100M, if I had the same condition.
