[ QUOTE ] EDIT: The Eagles? c'mon now. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, you know how everyone digs a cheese band but hates to admit it? This is them for me. [/ QUOTE ] People really consider The Eagles a "cheese band"? Some of their later stuff wasnt that great, but they were about as good as it gets for a while. |

If you're into the Rolling Stones the DVD to have is Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones. It's a bootleg from their 1972 tour during their prime, you can usually find it on ebay. [/ QUOTE ] I second this. Rolling Stones in their prime. Mick Taylor is amazing. |

Re: Concert DVD\'s
Another good one though not a concert performance per se is "Rock and Roll Circus" featuring the Rolling Stones.
This was performed before a live audience in 1968 complete with trapeze artists and fire-eaters, etc. and was intended for broadcast on television. For some reason or another, it never saw the light of day and was on the shelf until 1995. It contains killer performances by Jethro Tull, The Who, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithful, and Dirty Mac, which is actually a rocking blues jam by John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell. ( Yoko does make an appearance, so be forewarned.) The Stones wrap it up with six songs including the best live versions of "Sympathy for the Devil" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want" I've ever heard. |

I've posted about this before. It really is a breat DVD and a must for any RHCP fan. http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=5998 [/ QUOTE ] Just bought this. Really good performance. They play a lot of stuff from Californication and By The Way so beware haters. Chad Smith (looks like Will Ferrell, no?) has a drum solo while the band takes a break. The crowd goes into the "ole, ole ole ole, ole, ole" chant during, and he plays a beat for it. Then Flea jumps out in the middle and plays his trumpet or whateveritscalled. They are a tight band. I'll give it a 4 out of 5. |

Re: Concert DVD\'s
The Last Waltz is in a league of its own.
Check out Frank Zappa's "Baby Snakes". Great concert footage and mindblowing claymation sequences by the weirdly talented Bruce Bickford. |
