Default Re: Washington State Gambling Commission Questioned

My main concern is my future.

For Example: Two years from now I get audited, they look at my records and find the "$50" I was able to withdraw from Party Poker. That $50 is not worth the time I would spend with Bubba in the Pen...I will not play online poker again until this law is repealed.

At least that is what I keep telling myself...

It is very hard, it has been two weeks and I already miss my fish

I wish people would stop saying this. If you get audited and some of your income comes from online poker, there is zero chance that the IRS is going to call up the WA State Gambling Commission and report you as an online poker player.

The p(IRS lets information out) is not zero, but it's pretty close. Just a minor quible.

From the WA Gambling Commission FAQ:

"You cannot advertise or solicit Washington State citizens to gamble online when a fee is involved to play the games."

Given that the Commission warned the Seattle Times because they published an article by Daniel Negrenau that contained the link to fulltilt, I suppose that wearing a PokerStars.com t-shirt is now a felony.

I think I'll wear my PokerStars.com t-shirt to the Sunday tournament at Diamond Lil's in Renton WA tomorrow.

Under that definition of gambling, I don't see how investing in the stock market is not considered gambling. And working on commission if you consider you time as something of value. Maybe they should just outlaw -EV wagers, since that is the only time you are truly relying on luck.
