Default Okay, some guy is looking for an all CAPS flame fight, that\'s not news

The simple truth is, a celebrity agent contacted us about a possible endorsement deal, with her and some other celebs. Shannon had previously been representing BoDog on occasion. We had not tested the waters with a celebrity name.

Aside from playing back at Mr. Head's trash-talking critique of our business, which wasn't really germane to the general research of whether Shannon would attract play, I really stayed away from any site specific marketing.

1. You have now at least heard of our site, Truepoker, which you state would be the direct goal of any celebrity campaign.

2. I agree that a celebrity might be a direct enticement to a less-than-pro player, like someone who reads poker gossip forums ....

So, to attract a pro like you further, would I need to mention something like the WSOP4Free series we run, which has already given away a WSOP Main Event Trip entirely for free ? Or would you be more interested in something like a VIP or rakeback promotion ?

2. We clearly need to do a better job of marketing, as we have been in business for over 5 years .... and launched a 3D site in 2001 to attract newbie players.

I'm a fulltime pokerplayer. I can tell you what attracts me to a site.

1. Lots of fish
2. Rakeback
3. Reliable and fast software
4. Bonuses
5. Good and fast cashout options

My interest in playing at first poker would not directly be affected by Elizabeth Shannon promoting the site. However it might indirectly affect my interest if it brings alot of fish to the site.

A good option to get the fish start playing is a reasonably good first deposit bonus IMO. If you get enough fish the high volume players will show up automatically.

Hi David,

I am not sure how valuable a celebrity endorsement would be for your site. (Or any other site for that matter)

I did have a short term promo idea I emailed you about. Tried to pm you, but your box is full.

It seems that the celebs, (even the 3rd tier ones), get recognition on all of the televised tournaments. Those guys representing TruePoker for a free buy-in plus whatever extra seems to be a better deal than paying ESPN a boatload for a 30 second spot.
