Default Shannon Elizabeth, would you play at a site because she promotes it ?

The question is more than academic.

She is an attractive spokeperson who also has some poker skills, probably better tournament skills than most of the 2+2 readers.

Please feel free to post answers below or to email me at marketing@truepoker.com

Not at all.

I was actually quite annoyed when I heard her on The Circuit podcast talking about how she was looking to get sponsorship for 10K events.

I understand her fame/looks will gain enough exposure to probably be worth it to many sites to put her into major events, but I feel its a lame use of the money.

How about throwing that cash at regular players of the site, or deserving pros.

Everyone within poker wants to get it to some sponsorship level type sport/game with some type of real tour. Yet what seems to be happening is the only people getting free rides to events is second-rate celebrities and chicks with big [censored].

1. It was a joke.

2. Well, maybe not. Have you read News Views and Gossip or this forum ? (No slight was intended for the MTT readers, but I do not know where the bulk of the 2+2 readers reside.)

"How about throwing that cash at regular players of the site, or deserving pros."

We have been doing that for 5 years. We even throw cash at our 2006 WSOP Main Event Trip winners, which interestingly more than 50% have taken so far, in lieu of an entry to the Main Event. (Our next SuperSatellite will be June 30. Winner(s) will get their choice of a WSOP Main Event Trip, including airfare, etc. or $10,000 cash.)

However, the issue of celebrity spokespersons does come up periodically. We have not gone that route as yet, but may.

(I prefer paying players, but marketing ROI might be better from paying a celebrity. ... By the way, what do you mean a "deserving pro" ?)
