Re: Ever used a body fat analyzer? Opinions?
Have one. They tend to be consistent, but not totally accurate. It's good for relative measures (am I getting fitter or fatter?) but not so good for one-time uses.

Re: Ever used a body fat analyzer? Opinions?
The Tanita scale is the one I use.
The trick is....do your weighing/body fat check at the same time every day. That way you have a consistant amount of hydration for the machine to deal with. It's really not the absolute number that I'm interested in each day....it's the trend. I know if I'm in a big workout mode I'll be more dehydrated and if my weight is down, it will be a result of the lack of water vs. muscle mass rather than calorie burn. One other neat thing that the Tanita does is it has a "sports" version which gives a more accurate measure of the body fat. With all that said, if you are really interested in the absolute number, go have it done with calipers or into one of the dunk tanks. Ironman Dave |

Re: Ever used a body fat analyzer? Opinions?
I find that the "stop worrying about fat % fluctuations, eat right, and get some GD exercise" tool is phemonenal. Unless you are a doctor trying to make sure a wrestler isn't too skinny, then you have ne need for and device that measures body fat.
