Default Ever used a body fat analyzer? Opinions?

I was thinking of getting one, specifically this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006W...e&n=3760901

It's the Omron HBF-306 Body Fat Analyzer. It's got good reviews on Amazon; I was hoping to tap into OOTs collective opinion of these.

Anybody used one? Opinions?

Thanks-

-bb.

Readings fluxuate in a pretty wide range, depending on how hydrated you are, what time of day, when you've eaten, etc.

If you take readings right before you wake up, you can start to get a rough idea of how you're doing.

Those things suck in general. Get a set of calipers and do a 9 site test.

Somehow I think this would be hard to do...

My plan would be to do it first thing in the morning, when I weigh myself.

You can buy a scale that will give you both your weight and body fat.

Yeah, but apparently those just do a calculation based on height, weight (and measurements, I believe) and are supposed to be retardedly inaccurate. This one is supposed to test it by sending an electronic pulse from one side to the other and then measuring the resistance as it travelled through your body, as fat and muscle conduct electricity differently. According to the reviews, it works well. This would be very useful for when you're losing fat but gaining muscle, and is supposed to be a better way to measure your body's composition/health (which makes sense to me...).

Since I got mine my weight has fluctuated all over the place. I have been dehydrated, well hydrated, done it early in the morning, late at night. It's read within 1% bodyfat the whole time. I don't know if it works very well. It's the kind that uses the electrical pulse. I know it's using the pulse because if I use it with socks on it doesn't work at all. Maybe I'm just consistently fat.

They have scales that use the same method. They just send the electric pulse through your feet rather than your hands. Tanita makes a bunch of them.
