Re: JJ in awkward spot
I think you have to push here. You now have < 5x BB, and the two checks in front are probably wary of a flush and will fold to any bet. Plus, pushing (rather than min-betting) will probably scare off anyone holding only the Ac.

Re: JJ in awkward spot
[ QUOTE ]
Isn't this awfully similar to the Sklanksy TT UTG hand, posted a few weeks ago? The M was about the same, though the OP in the Sklansky had more bbs. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...9361&page= The geniuses were saying to limp in that hand. [/ QUOTE ] Not that close to the same situation. M is 5 here, as opposed to 7 in Sklansky's, and Sklanksy's had very high antes, which many opponents won't correctly account for. You have much more FE to most opps with 20BB than with 7, regardless of ante, thus a much more playable stack. Obviously JJ is better than TT against the range that people will call a shove with as well, especially considering how much "smaller" the shove will seem. |

Re: JJ in awkward spot
This is an automatic push pre-flop. Your M is 5 you simply cannot play post-flop correctly after raising because of your lack of chips.

I nearly pushed preflop - the temptation to try to get a few more chips than simply collecting the blinds (which were going to hit me next hand and were soon about to increase) made me slap in a regular raise.
Anyhoo, I did push; SB called BB folded. SB shows A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and I am just a short head behind.... |
