Re: Best/Worst Series Finales
[ QUOTE ]
St. Elsewhere finale showed that the entire thing was the imagination of a 7yr old. HUGE letdown for the incredibly loyal and rabid fanbase of the show. I voted it worst. I went back and forth between MASH and Cheers for best, finally landed on MASH. Cheers however has the best closing line of a series. Sam Malone locks the door, turns the sign and as a couple comes down the stairs for a late drink Sam says somberly "sorry, we're closed." ~FishNChips [/ QUOTE ] Funny. I voted for St. Elsewhere as the best *because* the end was so freaky and off-the-wall. I liked the final episode of Cheers, but "We're closed" can't even come close to the final line of Newhart. "Go back to sleep, Bob." I still crack up just thinking about that ending. |

Seinfeld's series finale was ridiculously bad. It's bad on its own merits, but its especially bad because so much was expected of it and it completely and utterly let down its fans. [/ QUOTE ] I thought Seinfeld had the best series finale for a couple reasons. The main one being that the show didn't get all sappy like most other sitcoms do when they come to an end. The other reason I really liked it is because the show actually ended. There was no "well what happens next?". They went to jail which effectively ended the show. |

Arrested Development got a pass though because it has an insanely rabid following that I really don't want to piss off. [/ QUOTE ] I voted AD meainly because it didn't end on its own terms. It was obvious that the series finale was way too premature which makes it the worst in my opinion. |

I really liked the last episode of The Wonder Years. Feel free to mock me.

Re: Best/Worst Series Finales
The Wonder Years had a very good finale.
D Edit: I see someone posted the same thing a minute before me. I feel so unoriginal. |

Voting Seinfeld as the worst series finale is just idiocy. It's just the worst relative to the hype. Fairly creative idea that got a little repetitive after the 45-minute mark, but it's not even close to the worst. [/ QUOTE ] Statement of fact. Bad != not what I expected. |

Instead of giving fans some new material one last time, they wasted it by showing old clips that we all have seen before and can see in syndication anyway. I'm disappointed when a "new" simpsons turns out to be a clip show, Seinfeld doing it on the last episode was awful. |

Re: Best/Worst Series Finales
Like others have said Six Feet Under needs to be on this list for best finales.
Worst I'm going with X-Files. Just horrible (like the last few seasons for that matter.) |
