You are also much more likely to be asked for documents if you deposit by credit card rather than using Neteller.

Bingo.

Thanks for the info so far guys - it seems this level of problem is NOT normal (like many of you mention, I also use Party, UB, and William Hill here in UK - all with no problems.)
For those who asked - yes, I DID use a credit card, and this was accepted without problem. If they had asked for all these details BEFORE taking my money, there would have been no problem, because I would have simply not gone any further with them. Even if there had been any mention of such things in their Terms and COnditions, (can you believe I actually LOOKED at them before agreeing??!?!??), I would have gone elsewhere.

Keep safe all - hope to see you on a site sometime (just as long as its not Titanpoker! ;-)

...which is why they wait until you want to withdraw, because your thinking is the same with many many others.

The common reply to that is it was ok for the mofo's to take the deposit with no problems but get a weed up their arse when you cash out. Prima established quite a reputation for cash-out hassles, poker pulse use to rate them in the top 5 sites, pokersitescout now rakes them 10th.

How about erasing the numbers, part of the numbers/details?
Erase just the ID, account # other important numbers/codes etc, leave your name and address. I think a lot of people does this on the casinos and its no problem for them. They usually just want to know you are you / your addres is correct etc.

I opened an Account with them yesterday, but I have not yet funded it. Thank you for the warning of hassle if I do.

However, what annoyed me about them, and which I find hypocritical of them if they are supposed to be interested in security, is that they sent me an e-mail containing both my Username and my Password.

Of course, maybe that's why they need to know the identity details, to protect me in case someone has compromised the details they gave in the e-mail?

Yeah, so they don't store your password in a hash format, very lame btw. Better be password paranoid and use a very different one on every site.

I've had to do this for a few sites. Titan Poker hasn't asked me yet though. Seems like nobody ever asks me for information for months then all of a sudden when I win some money and make a cashout larger than I normally do they freeze it and demand info. It's a pain in the ass but just do it. You'll get your money.

Chiller,

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but it is in pretty much every sites T&C that they can request documents from you at any time. So just because Party or UB hasn't asked you does not make it some crime when a site does ask you for documentation.
