Default Titanpoker - DANGER??

I wonder if anyone else has come across this problem with these people? -

Having opened an account with them (lured by their current ad campaign), I played a couple of games (and won!), only to find they then froze my account, and now not only refuse to pay the winnings, but won't even return my original stake, unless I send the copies of -
"1) A clear copy of your Passport/ ID card (both sides).

2) A clear copy of the credit card (both sides).

3) A clear copy of a recent bank statement showing your address. "

I won't even begin to go into the implications of sending such stuff via email!
I am now stuck as they won't return my money until I send this - so they have effectively stolen my cash!

Anyone else had similar problems?

(In the last two hours, two people have told me they have been told they must produce similar info before they can withdraw their winnings!)

Where's the problem?
This is common practice at many sites. It's for your own security. Just send the documents and stop bitching

Well I currently play on around 6 sites regularly, and I'm regisetered in several others. Not one has ever asked for ANYTHING like this.
Are you tell ing me that in these days of identity fraud you would happily send enough details to some people that you don't know, who are thousands of miles away, and could easily then pose as you, with everythin necessary to clean you out?
It HAS happened to me, and believe me, its a sickening feeling to look at your account, and find that some person in Hong Kong has spent every penny in you account in less than an hour!
I suppose that might make me a little paranoid - but don't say you havn't been warned if your bankroll goes walkabout!

This is common use at many sites. You have to do it at Party if you want your cashouts to be fast.

If you don't like it, I suggest that prior to depositing at a new site , you ask them about their cashout policy... or forfeit your deposit.

GL either way.

I would send the info and wouldn't be too concerend with the info being used nefariously.
I would be annoyed with having to do this though.

I have been on 20 or so sites and STILL have yet to have to fax anything to any of them.
I would prefer to keep it that way if I could. But I suspect that sooner or later some site somewhere will give me a hassle and I'll be forced to scan the various stuff to them.

Well all I can say to that is that if you are prepared to give away your money so easily, I look forward to playing poker with you!

Dude, this is VERY common at the poker sites owned by online casinos.

I have given that information to many sites and nobody ever messed with my account.

Party has never requested any of this stuff from me and I haven't had a cashout problem in over 2 years. I don't know of anyone else who has had to provide any of this to Party, either.

Not necessarily - my cashouts at Party are fine and I've never sent them anything - always under 2 hours. Same with Stars, UB and most of the other major sites.

These document requests are common with Prima sites and it seems the rooms in the iPoker network are taking the same approach. You are also much more likely to be asked for documents if you deposit by credit card rather than using Neteller.

All that said, they have you. Send them the docs, get your dough and move on.

Did you deposit with a credit card? You didn't say if you were from the US, but most US credit cards won't accept any gaming transactions. But I think if you deposit with a credit card is usually when you get asked for documentations for cashouts. I've deposited and cashed out from a ton and a half of different sites and have never been asked for any documentation. Even from Prima sites which are notorious for difficult cashouts. But I always deposited with Neteller and never with a credit card.
