I play a lot of lower limit SNGs and I would play KK pretty standard. If I am lucky enough to get KK early, I am ready to put it all on the line. You are ++EV to almost any holding, and an early double lets you push the table around. My only real adjustment is to increase the size of PF raises. I usually increase my raise to more like 6x or 7x bb. That will knock out a couple of limpers and often induce an all in (which I want). You are only 1 in 21 (I could be wrong but I think that is right) to hit a set on the flop, so why waste such good cards by not value betting?
While I agree with everyone else that it is right to play tight during the first 20 minutes, I also find it effective to loosen up a bit, raise often and play lots of continuation bets in the middle rounds. |
