What were you playing here? Can you really run that bad for 50k hands? Or was this a limit that you weren't beating?

It doesn't look like the graph of a guy that is beating the game, but i might be wrong.

Look at jph's graph from 95k to 125k. 30k hands, -400 BB.

And you're telling me that jph is a losing player?

Goodness.

I think running that bad for 50k hands is a really really rare thing

[/ QUOTE ]

much you have to learn.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's really f'n lame. If someone off the street came up to me and showed me that graph and said "I'm a pro" I'd say "Pro what? Pro burger flipper?"

Maybe you have some kind of explanation or something but if you think a .5 bb / 100 rate after that many hands

Maybe there's extenuating circumstances, maybe it's heads up, maybe it's 100/200 and your edge isn't that big.

If that were the case you could be condescending. As it is it looks like this is a graph from 3/6 and 5/10 shorthanded, in which case that's kind of embarrassing and you probably shouldn't be so condescending.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure a large portion of Bob's downswing was in Party 10/20. He can correct me if I'm wrong.

Rob

some was at 10/20, most at 3/6.

Hey housenuts, just to put things in perspective...

Over exactly the same amount of hands (seriously.. like within 25 hands or something) I just hit a 150BB downswing. I just made 55 of those back in 220 hands an hour ago. I'm not out of it yet, but things certainly do change when your cards start connecting and you stop running in to better hands. Just keep your head in the game, maybe take a day off and things will improve eventually.

Addressing OP's long forgotten post:

-Downswings happen
-if you posted this small a downswing on the BBV forum, you are probably tilting
-Stop 8-tabling
-Move down to 2 tables, tighten up slightly if you feel you are tilting and work on your game until you feel you are no longer tilting

Have not finished reading... but you should not be playing 5/10 for a living...if

1. $1300 is 1/3 of your entire bankroll.
2. You only played 30,000 hands of it last year.
3. A 130BB downswing over a short period of time is "Heartbreaking"

IT can and will get worse than that.

But yes this does happen without a ton of bad play.

PokerBob, I have a new found respect for you. Wow.

BTW, your avatar must represent your feelings toward those 400 BB downswings, huh? LOL.

Anyway, I hope I am as strong as you mentally... I may never know.
