Re: $100NL - J8s
Something else i thought about concerning betting the flop. If someone has a better jack. (TJ,QJ,KJ, I even limp AJ from utg sometimes) If someone does have you beat on the flop it's better to know now and save some money instead of waiting till the Ace hits and possibly thinking hes just betting a high A.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] First, I don't like the limp with J8s here. Either raise or fold this. Next, bet the flop. Why are you slow playing here? You're last to act. Get the money in now. Third, raise more on the turn. Min-raises suck. On the river, I check behind. [/ QUOTE ] Nice - Me too [/ QUOTE ] Me three. [/ QUOTE ] Everyone: If Villain has an A, he is betting the river just about every time, hoping Villain has a J. If Villain crais on the river, he almost certainly has an A, but that's a rare case. Most likely, Villain's turn and river action indicate the case J. Why not fire a scary bet, which is either going to be chopped or induce a fold? This is a pretty easy bet for me here. |

Re: $100NL - J8s
You have to bet this flop after getting checked to in position. I think your position will make it "seem" less likely you have a jack. I'm raising to 7-8 on turn. Easy c/f on river in my scenario and yours.

Re: $100NL - J8s
*BUMPPP*
I'm bumppping this because I'm curious to hear why most posters said they would check behind on that river, given the way the hand was played. It seemed to be a near-consensus, but isn't Villain repping the case J here? And doesn't Villain fire at the river almost every time with an A, hoping you will call with a J? |

Re: $100NL - J8s
Spy,
Raise preflop, bet the flop---hand will be much easier to play. as played, make a real raise on the turn--again hand will be easier to play. ness |
