Which is true, that you "make money about 2 of 3 times," or that you "can't even get close"?

They can't both be true. Which is it?

I think OP means he makes the money but he can't get close to the top 3 spots.

I get into the money 2 of 3 times (for example 1200 players start, 200 get into the "money".. however 1.1$ buyin = <2& for 240th place- this is what I make 2 of 3 times or there about)
Most of the total pricepool is for the top 3 players.. this is what I can't get close too.

You are confusing the responders, I thought you were talking 1 table SnG's, and I think many others did too.

If you are playing anything below $10 buy-in, stick to ABC poker. A lot of times this seems weak tight, however, doing more is getting cute and in order to get cute, your opponents need to understand the game. That's not an assumption I would be willing to make at this level.

BTW - saying opponents become good at $10 is debatable as well. There are many who would say $50 or more.

For what its worth, making the money but not making anything significant sounds like you are passing up on some coin flips and the like early on. If you want to win, you have to be willing to lose. Go on to the MTT forum's FAQ's and read some of the recommended threads.

If you are reading HOH, you are already way ahead of the competition at that level.

I'm with Reef on this... take one SnG, and rage. Be that guy. You know what I'm talking about. The guy who's going all-in like every other hand, the guy who's steaming, and pretending like he's running the table.

Establish dominance. Especially if the current big stack(s) at the table isn't willing to do that. Raise to increase the pot. Raise to make more money with your good hands. Raise to get information with your marginal hands. Raise to scare out the weak-tight players even when you have poor hands.
