Dont really like either of them.

First hand I think is the best of the two, but your hand is a little weak given you position. I think I may have made that play in the SB or BB.

I dont like hand two that much either. I think you position is to weak to make this play.

I think both are fine (as in +EV). People fold so often to these pushes that it is possible that you can make both these pushes with any two cards and it will profitable moves.

I'd rather do it with 99-JJ of course but here you are so shortstacked and the money already in the pot will really help you in both cases.

The 55 isn't +EV in my opinion, I don't like it one bit.
The 77 I like though and probably would do the same.

Agreed. The first hand you're still getting proper odds to call and play for a set. I think the second hand is fine.

I'd be surprised if hero is called even 1 time out of 4 in hand one in the 22s. I am fairly certain it is +EV.
