Re: A Big Laydown
Kurn, son of Mogh makes two good points above. The first one is about 100 times as important as the second. If you get anything out of this, let it be that you should never play underrolled, and especially not with all your money on one table.

Re: A Big Laydown

I have a feeling he is strong so i just call with QQ [/ QUOTE ] You have a "feeling" he has specifically AA or KK???? You can't fold on a typical J-high or lower flop, so you might as well get a raise in PF. You saved money on a fluke in this hand. TJQ is an impossible flop. Raise pre-flop to charge Ax unless there's a read-dependent situation you can exploit. |

Re: A Big Laydown

Haven't read others yet. If you think he has AA or KK you should fold preflop. If you htink he has ANYTHING else than you should raise it. Your logic preflop make Zero sense! That was a very bad flop. Sure top set is good but that flop brings way too much baggage. I push the flop. I'm not dumping top set here and still have outs if someone flopped a straight on me. You have $15 left and lets say the original raiser goes all in for $20. That means there is $52 in the pot and it costs you $15 or 3.6-1. Odds on filling up by river is 2-1. Terrible fold. Don't be result oriented! [/ QUOTE ]if I can narrow villain's hand range to KK and AA that's when I call faster. |

Re: A Big Laydown
Thanks Kurn, son of Mogh, and the others who gave good advice on this hand. I do now understand how poor the play was.
