Re: Live NL pre-flop raise sizing

Here is what my experience has taught me:

First, don't worry one bit about slowing the game down by raising odd amounts. Most dealers are very quick at making change. If you open for $12, it...

Re: What\'s the 1-2 NL like at Foxwoods - one answer

HA HA HA...

I LOVE Foxwoods!

The room is huge, full of terrible players, with a great management (I was 14th on a list as seated in 12min. - you can't beat that!).

Slots-o-Fun!!!

You got to hit up Slots-o-Fun. It's right next door to Circus and owned by the same people. They spread $2 craps at a table that is half-way on the sidewalk, which I actually see as a good thing...

Re: 3 ruling questions from my recent vegas trip

In at least Ceasars, they do not verify the strap if it is together as a strap and marked - the whole thing plays, as marked, counting as a single chip. Also, you cannot make someone pay more than...

Re: Any jackpot on these 3 poker rooms, Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn?

No jackpot promos at Venetian that I am aware of. The Harrahs properties have the biggest ones I believe - at least $55K for losing with quad 10's or better plus a high hand jackpot.

Ruling for 2 - correct?

In the actual hand, the dealer gave me back my small blind and ruled that my hand was dead.

This did not seem correct to me, but I wasn't about to make a stink over something like that especially...

My take on #1

I would have ruled that Player3 wins the hand since the other two players' hands were dead.

Player2 exposed his hand first. There were 3 players still in the hand and Player3 had not yet acted on...

3 ruling questions from my recent vegas trip

I have three ruling questions, and I am curious for some input:

1) I'm playing at a full NL table out of the small blind and post before the cards are dealt. The dealer deals out the cards to all...

Re: What makes his game \"special\"?

That was not what I was saying AT ALL.

I don't think it was an ego trip. I'm just trying to identify what separates a top pro's SnG play from someone who read HoH and has the discipline to follow...

What makes his game \"special\"?

PLEASE DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING HERE

Yes, I recognize that Chris's game is better than probably 99.9% of all the poker players out there. HOWEVER, why is this the case? I mean, when...

Re: \"optimal solutions\"

[ QUOTE ]
The solution that BruceZ gave is best in the sense that the
expected number of coin flips is minimized.

This statement makes BruceZ's answer incorrect given the...

Re: Can This Be The Answer??!!

This is not correct, as you can theoretically keep flipping tails.

My Answer - Thought?

This is my answer - maybe it's right, maybe it's wrong...

You take yourself out of the group and agree to be the coinflipper. Next, divide the remaining 8 into two groups of 4. Flip coin, and...

Re: Can This Be The Answer??!!

Two comments:

1) How do you assign the numbers
2) This process is not determinitive as you can theoretically "start over" an infinite number of times.

Re: Can This Be The Answer??!!

This cannot be the answer, because the process fails in two regards. First, you experince difficulties when an odd number of shipmates flip the same as the group flip. More importantly, this is not...

Re: Thoughts on Build a Bear?

You make an interesting point, but I do not completely understand. How do you make your conclusions given the fact that BBW is currently trading at 1.2x Rev and 7.5x TEV/EBITDA? Is there somewhere...

Re: Thoughts on Build a Bear?

It's simply earning more this year than last year.

In the past, BBW has been priced at a low multiple of 14, and a high multiple of 23, 27, and 33 for the past 3 years. Assuming that BBW hits...

Thoughts on Build a Bear?

Anyone have any thoughts on Build a Bear (BBW)???

It has pulled back to its support level today, and I just doubled down on my investment (I like to buy in increments).

I think that this...

Re: Official CNBC 1-Million Portfolio-Challenge Contest Thread

I am thinking that I need to start putting more eggs in fewer baskets and...
