Re: Overbetting Pots

Perhaps to show weakness, or to give the vibe that his overbet is a scare bet that doesn't want to get called. I see a lot of players make this maneouvre in HU SNG's and I must admit I sometimes...

It looks like stars is not going to have a HU event as part of the WCOOP this year. Am I missing something?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's there. $320 matchplay I think.

Re: 60T: Did he forget to bet?

[ QUOTE ]
I set him in. We were committed preflop. We have a gutshot and ace high. People call preflop because they are REALLY bad at poker.

Committed PF? OP has 3k+ chips after his...

Re: ($5) Fun with JJ

1) I like your line up until the river, in which case I'd fold. The BB would only call PF with at least a K/A in his hand assuming your read of quiet (tight) is accurate.

2) Call PF. Then...

Re: ($12) AQo in the awkward situation vs. limp-pusher

Easy fold. You'll minimize your losses here and will probably get to see what UTG has anyway.

Re: ($12) 2nd pair in BvB. Decision on the river

Strange that SB didn't push on the river if he wanted to fire out a bet. If he gets called and loses he's more or less left himself with nothing to play with. This may mean he wanted to get paid off?...

Re: PS $50 - I hate this spot so much

I'd fold. You're pretty much guaranteed 2nd unless the Button doubles up a couple of times. It's a tough one, but folding seems like the most profitable play here.

Re: 27: flop trips from BB

I'd pop it up to around 400 on the flop. If he has a strong hand then it's likely that he wont be mucking and if he doesn't have a hand than you probably wont be extracting any more chips. Plus...

Re: $6 + 50 Good shove with KQ 5 handed???

I'm more inclined to fold here. If the SB is calling you with more or less ATC than the best you're hoping for is a 60/40 favourite. Also you don't really have much FE considering the BB is...

Hand one I push the turn instead of putting 40% of your stack in on a drawy board and folding on the river.

Re: 5.5$: 2 hands, both early headsup against the same player

Hand 1: Raise to around 120 PF. 3XBB usually isn't enough to get the pot HU. The pot bets on each street bar the river seem like you're overplaying the hand, unless you knew that villain would call...

Re: $16:Ugly preflop spot with AQ

I'd open-raise for around 600-700, as 500 isn't even 3BB's. After the re-raise and call, I don't think a push is probably the best play here. Just call the re-raise and see the flop. If you miss and...

Re: $16 AK early, line check.

A re-raise PF is standard with AK IMO. You need to try and play these hands HU rather than multiway. MP2's min-raise either looks suspicious or is just a complete donk who doesn't have any idea about...

Re: 6.50 Stars QQ vs K on the flop

Check/calling is by far the worst play here. Either C/F or C/R. If you C/R at least you'll know where you are in the hand as oppose to just calling. However I don't advocate anything other than a...

Re: $6.50 Limp-party (JJ first hand)

I personally like to limp in EP with JJ in the early rounds. At this stage you're gonna get a lonk of donks calling with a wide range of hands, so if you flop a set there'll be a good chance you'll...

Re: How best to use big stack when the blinds are still low

I'd still apply the tight game in the early levels. There's no need to start throwing chips away unnecessarily until the blinds start to rise. Just imagine that you still have a standard sized stack...
