Re: Dealing with players who wont STFU

The only thing I've ever tried is to not sit immediately on either side because then you can't ignore them.

Most of the time that I've had someone like this at a table, I don't think that it was...

Re: In order to be a poker player...

That statement is obviously just a metaphor. I've heard the same for any type of gambling. Basically if you can't go into a game with whatever your buy in is with the ability and knowledge that it...

Re: Music?

I listen while I play online and it actually helps keep me from getting bored so I don't play more hands to keep myself occupied. Besides sitting around the kitchen table, I have not had the...

Re: Am I too tight?

I think calling here is a huge mistake. Unless the UTG minraised with monster preflop you should be in good shape Raise. First you should have re-raised pre flop but now you can't give someone...

Re: In the BB. UTG raises and everyone calls.

I don't see why not. I'm at work and can't spend all the time to look them up but here are some early...

Tight....here is where I like Slansky's theories about having better cards to call then to open.

I don't think this is a spot for the gap concept. Here you are getting...

Re: In the BB. UTG raises and everyone calls.

In Limit and a full table? If so you are getting 19-1 odds. I'd call with any 2 cards. It's easier than trying to figure out the top 95% of hands. Or bottom 5% for that matter.

Re: Is it still a \"suckout\" even if the card was free?

You had infinite pot odds to draw out. I agree with the others. No suckout. Maybe and outdraw but no suckout.

Re: harringtons 3rd book, how did u score?

406

I lost quite a few points trying to correct a situation that I wouldn't have even been in a few questions. Even when my initial answer may have been correct (like a fold) and rcvd equal points...

Re: God I Hate Flat-Callers

Well, we can be pretty sure our hero has lost this hand by the title so he may have been up against someone weak. Add KK, and QQ to the hands he can be afraid of . I've unfortunately seen them both...

Re: On the Bubble at 3-table Small Stakes

With the #6 stack so close you have to improve. If he hits one hand you're bumin. No need to get tricky. A 1/2 stack raise will pretty much commit you anyway. Easy push. If you had more of a...

Re: How to get around terrible players...

[ QUOTE ]
I forgot to mention, they also tried to switch cards and make sure I didn't win.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thats way more of a problem than someone chasing bad draws against good hands.

Re: tighen up or play aggressive when close to the money

I agree with the rest. Easy push.

I don't think tightening up near the final table is a good idea. Especially if you are short stacked.

A few years ago I read a good article on Steve Badger's...

The...
