Re: A Handful of $16 bubble hands...

Every one of these is totally standard.

Re: $22 - SPEED - KK (3 shoves ahead of me)

He's saying the fact that the blinds are huge leads more towards a call. It would be more interesting if you had more chips and the blinds were smaller.

Re: I know why there are so few long-term winners at poker

Moving up is fine if you are beating a certain level over a sufficient sample size. It also gives you a goal to shoot for, which is helpful. However, I think the problem with a lot of players is that...

Re: $55 speed first hand OESFD on flop

I don't know why anyone would have a problem with you calling preflop here. Folding is fine, but there is nothing at all wrong with calling here.

Edit: I agree with previous posters points about...

Re: Negative streak - advices?

The first thing you need to realize is that what's happening to you is normal and happens to EVERY poker play eventually. If you play long enough you will go through horrible streaks and you will go...

Re: $11 -- PP Level 2, JJ : Call the push reraise from tilty LAG?

I wouldn't have reraised with JJ either, but honestly, from your description of him and the situation and the fact that this is an $11, I would call. I think the chances are significantly increased...

Re: The lack of class.

Some of these responses make me laugh. Being rude is revolutionary? And someone who doesn't approve of rude behavior is wrong for trying to force his cultural views on other people? Most of the time...

Re: Playing while drunk

I wouldn't go so far as to play the fake money tables, but what I do when I feel like playing, but don't think I'm in the right frame of mind to do so, is to fire up a $5 turbo. I normally play the...

Re: 119\'s Bubble strategy?? Was this an okay call?

[ QUOTE ]
With the money in the pot, wouldn't I only need to be about 40-45% against his range to make this a correct call?

You're trying to apply pot odds in a vacuum. What you...

Re: Pokerstars $22 Bubble-Ok to push this?

[ QUOTE ]
I don't like it, UTG is basically on fumes. Just call, take a flop, and see how it goes from there. You do not want a call here to your push. It would be a disaster. I just don't think...

Pokerstars $22 Bubble-Ok to push this?

We were 4-handed at the 100/200/25 level. Stacks were as follows:

CO - 700
Butt - 8900
SB - 1100
Hero - 2800

CO folds, button raises to 600, SB folds, hero pushes with AKo.

We had been on...

Re: Should I fold JJ on the bubble here?

Good analysis, but your range for UTG is absolutely enormous. I know a lot of 2+2ers aren't pushing with that wide a range.

Re: How\'s this Push? PP Speed $6...

Way too aggessive IMO. I would make this move from SB or button, but it's VERY different with six people still to act. Risk/Reward is no good here.

Re: Calling allins with low PP ITM

True, the person who is receiving the benefit is the person not involved with the hand. It's an annoying fact that in SNGs other peoples bad decisions can hurt both of you.

Re: Calling allins with low PP ITM

This is such a fundamentally easy fold that you need to make sure you understand the concept fully before going any further.

When you call here you are either going to be a small favorite or a...

Re: Adjust bubble strat for horrible players?

[ QUOTE ]
On the bubble with your lead in this situation you should wait for a good hand like AQ or a pair of jacks

Re: My Sit & Go Plan (NC)

The first thing you need to know is that bubble play is where a lot of money is won and lost in SNGs. This is the area I would concentrate my studies.

It has nothing to do with how well or how poorly anybody plays. The mathematics of the game can't support more winners than that.

I know why there are so few long-term winners at poker

Some of you may have heard the stat thrown out that only 5-7% of online poker players are long-term winners. When I first heard that stat I thought it was BS and way too low.

The more I've played,...

Re: 109 speed at Party: Blatant Cheating (Chip Passing)?!

Well, if they were, they're the worst cheaters in history. Doubling up in round one far from guarantees making the money. K9 gave value to entire table.

Edit: I'm no mathmagician like a lot of...

Re: $11 speed: Can you laydown big slick that early?

Yes I can, unless I have a read that UTG+1 is stupid enough to do this with AQ or worse. I don't like coin flipping or worse for all my money when stacks are this deep.

Re: $16 tubo - some simple short stacked hands...

Hand 1-I consider this push too aggressive given your stack size. I would lean toward folding.

Hand 2-I would push also.

Hand 3-Depends alot on BB. I personally don't like going all-in with...

Re: $22S : 88 5 handed vs minraise help me out

I would definitely push based on your read on him. I wouldn't fear the minraise too much, some players try to steal cheaply when the blinds get huge. If he has been active, then there's still a...
