Re: Mason Malmuth Radio Interview

Hehe, notice the end of the interview with Tannenbaum... part 1, I believe. "why does that guy keep giving me the finger?"

Re: 50NL: I just can\'t accept being floated

This can frustrate the hell out of me too.

However, I would fold this on the turn. Chances are that he's betting the river too, which in this case happened. You can make trips or even a straight,...

Re: NL25 - JJ basic bet-sizing Q

I think it mainly depends on the number of opponents and the type of opponents. The more opponents and the more they lean towards calling stations, the more you should bet.
If there are more...

Re: AQ hitting TPTK on flop turn comes K

He'll likely bet the river too if you call his $9, with a K and with air. So you can only call if you intend to call a riverbet too. You probably need some specific reads to do that, so I think you...

Re: Runner runner straight against my TPMK!

I'd definitely bet the flop (mostly for value) and the turn (now for protection too). This would tend to keep his river move more honest too, as you might as well have 2pair or better as far as he...

Re: Action with AK on K-high-flop

Well, it depends. It depends on what level he is thinking. It depends on how aggressive he plays his made hands. I'm assuming this is pretty much an unknown. With an unknown you can't really be sure...

Re: Action with AK on K-high-flop

Effective stacksize?
It would appear that he either has 44 or KJ. There is a small chance he has JsXs (or a sd+fd), but then he'd problably 3bet all-in.
I fold to the 3bet.

Re: **Official uNL Stats thread**

[ QUOTE ]
As an aside, over 22k hands at Party 50NL my Folded SB to steal is 91% and my Folded BB to steal is 89%. Is this the tighter end of the acceptable range or am I just way too big a nit out...

Re: 50nl - I hate these small leads

I'm not sure about this one, but wouldn't a raise have some value here? I know 50 hands is not much, but still...

Re: 50nl AQ TPTK hand

That turnbet is really scary. He's basically saying: "I want to get my stack in there, but the pot is not big enough, so I make a decent bet and will get the rest in on the river." It's a kind of dry...

Re: Hows my JJ here under pressure?

I think I agree with Mingdu in that you've gotten in a tricky situation, because you made a small bet on the turn. A 2/3 pot or maybe somewhat more would leave easier choices imo. If he repops that...

Re: $50NL 6MAX - 3barrel spewage?

I needed some validation. I rarely make such "plays", but they might be crushing my bb/100.
It might be that it's a mild emotional outburst to my usual reasonably solid game. I am a winning player,...

$50NL 6MAX - 3barrel spewage?

Villain seems to be a bit rockish. No solid reads, though.

I planned on giving up after he called the flop, but the ace on the turn got me to fire a second and a third barrel. I'm almost certain...

I think you deserve more comments, as this is one of the most practical guides to improve ones(read: my) game. Props to you!

Re: 25NL: AK troulbe on flop!

I've been experimenting a little with these situations (read: calling "funny" bets) in order to see what was happening. More than I had expected, my opponents held crap up to multidraws. I believe...

Re: Introduction and first hand post

That makes it a bit more difficult. My advice mostly remains the same, but I'd probably c/c the flop instead of c/r.

Re: Introduction and first hand post

Hi there.

You've allowed yourself to get in a tricky situation. Limping with A5o on the SB leaves you in dangerous spot. I assume you call, because you think that even a rock will loosen up...

Are we really folding QTs PF IP to a UTG raise?? I've gotten tighter since my early lagtard days, but not that tight yet. At 50NL this is a good fold even in position?

Re: 50nl AQ TPTK on soaking board!

I'm not sure what the problem is. You have tptk and the nfd, heads-up. You're opponent has shown no strength yet. You'll have the best hand many times, so you bet for value. You also don't want to...

Re: NL50: Flopped the nuts in multi-way pot - how\'s my line?

I don't like this play. Since utg bet pf, you hope he has flopped a big hand too. But you also have a second opponent, who probably has a lesser hand. You don't want to give the lesser hand an easy...

Re: NL50 - Set vs. possible flush

I think folding without a solid read is not an option here. Your hand is simply too strong. Having that said, raising is better than calling, in my opinion.

He could have various reasons to bet...
