Re: too big to back out?
In SSHE on pg.102 it says: "You are over a 23-to-1 dog to make your backdoor (flush) draw. If it is your only winning chance, the pot must be enormous for you to consider calling a flop bet. (Even...

Re: too big to back out?
I was being laid 7 to 1 odds on the flop. Since I wasn't drawing to the nut flush I'm not sure how to estimate my outs.
Miller said in SSHE pgs 149-150 in the section "Continuing When You Might Be...

too big to back out?
I wasn't even going to be in this hand but I had position and was suited with just a Q high and no kicker.
But then the pot started getting so big that all my reading of SSHE esp. (I remember...

Too aggressive with top pr.?
Both myself and villain just sat down at this table (I had no reads on him) and this was our first hand.
I know I only had a 10 high back door flush draw and medium tp and we both just checked...

Two overcards and the nut flush draw
I've been coming back to limit from no limit and I don't trust my self enough to move up and play where I usually feel comfortable. I start out at .05/.10 and then try .10/.20 and finally .25/.50.

Re: Bet this flop w/ a set?
Nice graphics. I think I'm getting it. I think I will bet my sets from now on unless I find some reason not to. Thanks for all the feedback.

Bet this flop w/ a set?
I've been away from limit for many months trying to learn no-limit, so I'm a bit rusty at the limit games. Being the way this hand played out, would you have bet the flop to start off with?
I...

Re: ATo
I would have played conservative and check/called the river in this situation.

Re: An ATo hand
To stay in on the flop without an A would be risky for me with 4 players esp at a loose table. If he has a K he might bet it on the turn rather than see it checked through.
If he had a K and ckd the...

Re: Still trying to improve my river play
pretty loose so far--bet/fold or c/f or c/c depends on your feel for the table and player. I think you may have the best hand so I'd bet--if he's got a small pair, you lose a bet.

Re: Trips multiway with a three flush on board
Oh, didn't see the other Q. Yes keep betting anyway. If you get raised consider the player (if you can--i.e. not new to table).
I maybe would check raise here and if I got three bet I would see what...

Re: anyone play on here, part 2
If you think you're or see yourself as "weak" other players (esp. TAG's) may also and try to take advantage of you.
Myself, this flop I'm not crazy about with your hand--two overcards is about all...

Re: AJo in BB
MP3 might have had a small Ace. If he had a seven he would have probably raised the flop.
Raise preflop--you got quality cards and no one's raised. Raise for value.
Bet the river even though...

Re: Moderately interesting KQo hand (playalong)
I think a straightforward raise to get more money in the pot and see how the flop comes. Are the blinds being defended?
Loose tables are hard to play because somebody lucks out by the river a lot if...

How do you read villain\'s hand?
UTG is a calling station one other loose player at the table the rest were all TAGs. Villain-not a TAG but no other read on him.
I rarely play QJo in this early position with many players left to...

Re: Pushing the Marginal (PP vs Overcards)
Maybe SB has a piece of the flop or a medium to small pr. But you came on strong preflop so if he has something like 10x or Qx, he may be fearing you have AQ or TT or other high pr.
I guess I...

Re: Any other ways to play this
Thanks for pointing that out NIX--he was drawing very live with QsJc.
And yes with 3 people with PFR in the high red 30's & 40's I took a chance to pay a lot to get dominated if I didn't hit the...

Button cold calls & raises flop
I had tptk. Board is full of big cards. I feel like I played this hand weakly. Would you have been more aggressive on the river and/or turn--getting at least one check raise in?
The only read I...

Re: It\'s been a while.
Hand 2--
Depends on the players, of course, but in the blind you could have hit two pr. with the small cards coming up and be representing that with a raise on the flop. If SB hit the two small...
