I hate to sound like an @ss, but that turn needs your love.

Bet turn repping AQ. If c/r'd, fold. If called, fold to most river bets. If called and checked to on river, check behind.

I like this line. How much do you like betting her on the turn?

I checked the turn because I was WA/WB and I didn't think villain put any money in the pot if he was beat

Also checking behind induces a lot of bluffs on the river, but overbets on the river in my experience scream "I want to win a big pot with my monster hand"

Checking when WA/WB is not good. You need to find out where your hand is ASAP and if you are c/r'd on the turn you can safely fold. He sees your actions as raise, c-bet, check(showing weakness), and he thinks he can take the pot from you on the river. Perhaps he hit a hand and was going for a c/r on the turn, but I think he could be betting out anything including trip Q's, pair of jacks, 99+, or even air. I think you are ahead of that range and need to call. In the future though I wouldn't give him a chance to shove a lot of money in like that and force you to make the tough decision.

You checked to induce a bluff, now you must call.

Default Actual Results

I tanked, then realized I had to call since I checked the turn and he flipped over 88 for a flopped set

Your instincts are correct, most overbets are made hands. All the more reason to bet turn.
