Flying into Rome 5/17

I need to start doing my research. My girlfriend and I will be staying for 10 days, excluding overseas travel time. What are the sites I absolutely have to see in Italy? We were thinking the Riviera, Venice, Florence, Isla di Capri, and obv Rome but I don't think we can do all those justice given the time. World travelers give me advice!
