I have seen villian on a couple of my tables before and he seems like a solid player so i dont know why he is limping here espescially with his stack size. seemed like a strong hand to me so i figured id check it and look at the flop, whereas i would usually push against an unknown. what do you think id usually see here coming from a solid player?

ship it pre. villains limp is bad no matter what he has (even AA/KK). I think you may want to re-evaluate your read on villain

I don't think this is bad since you are out of position against a stack that probably won't fold to any raise & I doubt AQ will be ahead of any part of his range. You wiffed the flop anyway so a check/fold is fine.

AQ isn't a great hand, you will always be on the wrong side of a coinflip or dominated unless villan is a complete muppet. The only time I would raise here is when villan has been seen limp folding.

I can't imagine a solid player limping here. If he had a big hand QQ+ wouldn't he at least raise to 300 if he was being tricky? I guess if you haven't noticed him limp alot then I guess check pf and go with your read. Did you have any pahud stats on the guy?

I've seen some guys who I thought were solid limp with small pps, AJ, KQ before.

most of the time because he is playing a medium pocket pair that will push any single raise.

i don't think you have much FE if you push preflop, so i think checking/folding here was good.

Or he has a suited connector and just wants to see a cheap flop. This is read dependent, but there are plenty of people who don't understand stack sizing and still will limp w/ 10bb when that 76s hand comes up.

If he seems like that guy, I push and take the pot pre-flop. Read dependent though, pt stats would be helpful.
