Its too bad you're leaving, I liked reading your posts.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought you disliked posts in which posters called other posters names like "stupid" and "troll".

[/ QUOTE ]

I did not call you stupid. I said the way you reply makes you look stupid. I also did not call you a troll. I said that "I don't know if you are just a troll/attention whore or just have some strange views of society and want to vent them without rational thoughts backing them up.", because I don't know you as a poster and that's what your replies looked like.

[ QUOTE ]
More personal attacks instead of "reasoned" response. Standard.

[/ QUOTE ]

Asking another poster if they think you have written even one meaningful sentence is not a personal attack.

I'm sorry, I messed up your private planning session for bossing other people around and violently imposing your personal preferences on them?

[/ QUOTE ]

Again, let me explain: Democracy works though debate and votes. First, there is a discussion of the subject at hand. Then, solutions are proposed. Finally, a vote is cast on the preferred way to deal with it.

What we are doing now is still part of the "discussion"-part. "Bossing other people around and violently imposing your personal preferences on them" is something else.

This is a good example of why I called your replies trollish and not to be reasoned with.

At this point, I'm going to ask both of you to drop it.

Yes, it's what inevitably follows this "discussion" in a true democracy. It's what happens when the gang comprised of 50.1% of the populace decides to impose its will on the other 49.9% with the backing of your infallible "law."

Also, "your post makes you look stupid" is really just a gutless, verbose way of saying "you're stupid." It's no less of an ad hominem attack.

Good luck finding professors to teach in a college happy-gun environment. I've been in the academic field for many years now, and I know exactly ZERO who would do it.

Yeah, I thought of him, but I don't know him. I'm pretty sure you can find some in the whole country, but not enough. I just don't think it's practical to allow guns on campuses. It just creates way many more problems than those who supposedly solves.

What problems? These professors walk amongst the armed every day, and miraculously do not become perforated with bullet holes.

Borodog is a pretty rare exception I think in this regard. First, hes not a professor. Most professors are going to be extreme leftists and are terrified of guns. I think sirio is right on that most acedemic types would not want to teach in such a place.
