Villain is running 29/11/2 over 125 hands. I've seen him make this play twice on other players: once he had the nuts, once a busted flush draw. I've got position on villain and am trying to play stack-a-donk.
50NL blinds, .25/.50 Hero ($85) Villain ($240) Villain (UTG) raises to $3.00 Hero calls in MP with (Td Ts) Rest of table and blinds fold. Flop (Jc 2c 6d) Villain bets $8. Hero calls $8. Turn (2d) Villain checks. Hero checks. River (9s) Villain goes all in ($229). Hero ??? |

IMHO, stack-a-donk is not really an option with middle pair.
Stack-a-donk generally involves villain with an overpair, and you have a set or better. |

BTW - I fold this river. I'd need a huge read on villain to call, and 50/50 is not it.

I had a hand like this earlier today and I called. After the hand I wanted to punch a wall, not because I lost, but because I played the hand like an fool and literally GAVE away my whole stack.
Learn from my mistake and fold with confidence. |

Should hero have bet turn?

I think the check is fine.
A bet would have made the pot quite big for your little hand to handle, and the board is quite dry so a free card is not bad. It also induces villain to bluff. I would have called a 10$-12$ bet on the river. But I fold to the push. |

I would have made a "value" bet on the turn to see what villian does.

It looks like villian had a marginal hand since the beginning. That all-in move at the end looks like a desperation move. Almost like he didn't want you to call. I would have call a smaller bet. I fold to the big push.
