First of all, "nl1k live" is a silly designation. Presumably it means "$1000 buyin NLHE" with 100 BBL buyins, except that B&M max buyins are all over the map, seeing as how it's not actually online and all. The way to designate a game with $5 SB and $10 BB is "$5-10 NLHE", and not keep us guessing what you mean.

Secondly, given the level of play in live vs. online, you could easily be a loser at online $1-2 and a winner at live $2-5. The winrates expressed in this thread probably wouldn't apply for a losing online $1-2 player, but it's still quite conceivable a good play would still see a dropoff that wouldn't be compensated by multitabling, especially since its a skill of its own.

I agree, 50K cash is right around a 75k/year job after uncle sam takes his cut. Good money for this limit/risk IMO.

If you have good game selection, then I think you can do a lot better than 25-30/hr

He won the first survivor. The entire country watched him win $1 million. He then got arrested and concicted of tax evasion when he tried to get away with not reporting it as income.

Just curious of how many buy ins to keep for a roll on 5/10NL games live. Right now I am rolled for 3/6NL online with 40 buy ins. I dont play live poker at all, so would I be properly rolled for 5/10 live full time?

Live poker doesn't have a standard buy-in. Some games have a max buy-in of less than 100 BBL, some have greater than 100 BBL, some are unlimited in buy-ins.

It doesn't make your question invalid; it just means that you're looking for the wrong unit of measurement.

In practice, it could well that you're not bankrolled to buy in for the max for a certain game, but you're still bankrolled to play it profitably. For example, I would feel comfortable playing a $2-5 $200 min. unlimited max. game with $4000 (20 buy-ins of $200), but there might be people with $1000 on the table.

I can beat 100NL online for a nice win rate. What limit in your opinion could I beat in Vegas? Or a 2nd way to phrase it, what limit live plays like 100NL online (if any)?
