[ QUOTE ]
Here are four spots I see HE players make huge mistakes. The first two come from transfering their HE instincts in unprofitable ways. The third comes from trying to 'adust' to O8 by playing a draw that is terrible. The fourth is not realizing the strength of a potential scooper. You have: A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Board is: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Your line: Check/fold You have: T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (in BB) Board is: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Your line: Check/fold You have: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Board is: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Your line: Check/fold Your hand: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Board is: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Your line: Push as many people as possible out of the hand. Make people cold call as many bets as possible to get heads up with nut draws that might not hit. [/ QUOTE ] This might work for full table live games like OP was describing. However, online, especially 6 max online is such a spaz fest that none of these hands are check/fold for 1 bet. I think you need alot more context to make these lines correct. Online 6 max, I'm check calling on hand one and even raising for a free card if I think the player is passive or is unlikely to have a3. Hand 2 you're getting to showdown without reads and loads of action. Hand 3 you're against a FH almost never at 6 max. If the pot is unraised and you're in a blind and it's 2 bets to you maybe you can fold. Otherwise any other line is better. Raising in position both to fold out bluffs (which are perpetual on paired boards at low stakes 6 max), for value, for free cards. And pound hand 4. |

Hand one, 6-max, do you really think you can scoop the pot still? What are you looking for on the turn besides a diamond? Maybe a low card so you could play your a-2, or are you looking to get two pair with your Q or T?
Still hate hand two -- maybe I'm really weak, but anybody with clubs and a low is stomping you. I can't think of many cards I'd want to see except high non-clubs or a board pair that'd make me feel safe. |

Well, it was already clear to me that raising early is overrated compared to LHE. Raising for a free card? At COMMERCE? LOL!

I'm glad people are debating about what the proper line is in my four hypothetical hands. Could that be related to the fact that hardly any new low stakes LO8 hands are getting posted on here?
Also bear in mind they were intended to illustrate general points, not dictate specific plays. |
