Not pushing the K4 hand is pretty weak, unless you had done it a lot before and thought SB might be limp trapping. I'll push ATC in this spot.

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't say I won't push K4o, I think that was a missed oppourtunity. I to would probably push ATC in this situation however I'd like to see two live cards if i'm called.

I find the more a push the large villians calling range becomes. After about three pushes I find some of them will call with any one face card, probably just getting annoyed with me. Anyone else find this?

The problem I'm having is playing once I get ITM. I'm getting hosed once its down to 3 players.

[/ QUOTE ]

It looks like you're missing a few pushes that have been pointed out already. Also there was a bad beat or two if I can recall correctly, which you can't do anything about.

Anyway, I feel your pain. Over the last month I am placing in an inordinate amount of 3rds and it's driving me crazy.

Keep posting hands, it helps us all.

Definitely, I slow down after 3 pushes in a row and get all warm inside when I see a good hand soon after those 3 pushes .

Thirds drive me CRAZY. If I do 4 22s and place 3rd in 2 I'm losing $8. It makes me want to choke myself.

Standard. When you have around 10bb on the button 3-handed its either push/fold. I'm pretty tight in this spot, probably A9+, 66+, KQs. All dependent on reads of their calling ranges.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why so tight here???? I am pushing an A, any pair, any K probably and more.

But I also don't have a 30% ROI.

???

(serious question)

I am stunned at how tight you are here. Thhat can't be right can it??

Check out SNGPT. Pushing any ace any King is suicide. For example pushing A2s only becomes a good push when they call 66+,ATs+,AJo+ (which they hardly ever do). Put these stacks into SNGPT and play around with hands/calling ranges. I think you'll be suprised how tight you have to be in this spot.

Bump. How many other people are as tight as me on the button 3 handed with all even stacks?

meh...I don't like this.

You should've potted that turn card, he would fold most of the time. As it is, you waited until an obvious blank hits and min-raises. I'd probably push on you right there.

Completing the SB, check check minraise is NOT aggression, it's milk toast. If you're gonna bluff, do it when it looks like you might have something, like that flop and the turn. Otherwise, just fold your 6 high sb and bank some FE.

Try this:
Cup your hands behind your chips and say
"POOOOOOSHHH" as you extend your elbows.

Shipit Holla!!!!

I would've pushed every one of these hands that wasn't already called or raised. Run all of them through SNGPT, but I think you've missed a ton of push spots in both these posts.

If you have the choice, pushing >>>>> calling.

Since this has ended up being the longest thread I've ever started with a bunch of posters I respect replying, I might as well keep a good thing going.

To answer your question, these situations are all about feel for me at this point. It really depends on the aggression level of my opponents had how I've been playing up until this point. To go back to basics, if they are putting in lots of raises with marginal hands I sit back and wait for a hand I feel beats their range and then give a call a shot while also pushing with the range that Jay mentioned plus a few more pairs because I play speeds and need the chips sooner than later. If they are tight and I've been tight, this is when I turn it up a bit. I make 1600 chip raises from the SB and Button with nearly any playable 2 and will fold to a reraise. This strategy has worked very well for me at the $11s but something's up at the $22s or I'm caught up in a run of cold cards.
