[ QUOTE ]
depends who is pushing.

I favor a push, however 250 does not tell me "Strong Hand"

I still like 350 better that 250 here. Blinds are much more likely to fold to this bet IMO

Hope these posts helped.

PEACE

If you're so worried about the blind folding then you should push because by making a 350 bet preflop you're pretty much going to have to push the flop if you make a c-bet anyway. Making a 250 bet allows us to take down the blinds cheaply and gives us an escape route. If we are called we may have the best hand & we can still make a bet on the flop & get away from our hand if we think we are behind.

I like the 250. It takes the blinds most of the time. You can get away if someone pushes. If someone calls, oh well, play the flop. With 1100 chips I'd push.

I push this one. However, a raise to 2,5 BB is perfectly fine in the later levels. To all the people that tell him to raise to 350: what's your plan on the flop when he miss it? Make a c-bet to 500? That will leave him with ~500 chips. People that fold to a 2,5 BB raise will fold to a 3,5 BB raise also, in the late levels.

No offense but I think you should listen to some of the advice that the more experienced posters are giving you here. We have good reasons for making the 250 raise. Your only reason for making a 350 raise is that it takes down the blinds more, yet you don't realize the negatives of the 350 raise. If you're going to make it 350, and if your only concern is how often you can take down the pot preflop, then you should just push preflop.

I'll push this
I don't like the 3.5 and the 2.5 raises. The push is the best way to take these blinds. You'll miss a lot of times the flop when you raise and then what do you do?

What happened to 3xBB raise? Are 2.5xBB raises or 3.5xBB regular in the higher buy-ins? I rarely see them in the $11s or $22s on stars when someone is making standard position raise.

I did already state I'd prefer a push here. I understand your reasoning, but disagree slightly, have a nice day.

3xBB is still standard. The reason he's raising 2.5xBB here is because of his stack size. It allows him to make a c-bet on the flop, yet still get away from his hand if he's beat.
