I had a lot of trouble with Mystic River.

There's also something about Goodfellas and how well done the characters are that has me thinking about them days after.

I just saw this recently, wow. It was almost surreal watching it. Excellent film and very very sad.

Excellent choice.

I'll add The Deer Hunter. Whenever I see it in the channel guide I say I'm not going to watch it, and for some reason I keep switching it back on.

Last of the Mohicans does it for me. Great acting + great directing + great cinematography + great score. It's easily my favorite love story. If I watch it, I get emotional at the end every time.

It's one of the most underrated movies ever made.
