I haven't been back since Monday night and I think I won't be returning until the ME...

from 4 people I know that have played there they all echo the sentiment of the mid NL games not being very juicy...

on the other hand the BELLAGIO has been sick busy this week

I had to wait an hour for 5/10NL at 1pm today, thats right, 1pm on a Thursday...

2 weeks ago the main game wasn't even full at 1pm

also bellagio is running $1060 MTTs everyday until the end of july...today there were a STAGGERRING (Sp?) 149 entries, first place paid 55K

[censored] the rio at this point

I'm not sure I would want to play cash games at the RIO during WSOP, as that is where all the pro's are going to be. I would think you could find better game selection elsewhere in Vegas, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Because "pros" generally are overrated and kinda suck?

I enjoy tournament players in NL cash games. Very much so.

I guess I meant the non-holdem action. The main reason I would go to the WSOP is for PLO and stud side action.

Believe me, if you can play anything besides HE, this is a goldmine. Last year I played games ranging from 5/10 mixed Razz, Stud 8, 20/40 O8, 50/100 Stud 8, etc.

The key is to be very aggressive, first off. You have to take matters into your own hands when it comes to signing up for games, getting into games and starting new games. You absolutely MUST be the squeaky wheel. Do not take no for an answer, keep pushing your agenda.

Second, don't buy in for a ton of chips. Unless something has changed since last year, buy in for the very least you will need in working chips and use hundreds for the rest. When you get up to pee, take the hundreds. That way you are less at risk. Someone is less apt to steal from a guy who has a stack of red or green with a few odd blue for tipping than a guy who has a couple racks of red.

There are many reasons to play at Rio, and many reasons not to. If non-HE is your specialty, I say the rewards outweigh the risks. Sometimes the Chinese games are incredible. I heard they are spreading all the way down to $25/point this year. Easy money.

well...I returned to the rio to give it one more shot for the NL action...I was not impressed, however they have gotten a lot better with lists/filling open seats and such

the action is terrible, the place is a zoo

stick to the bellagio if you play NL (its an even bigger ZOO, but the action is awesome)

Bellagio is much better for having continuous high limit games running, although the list can get long at times.
