Side Games at the Rio

Can anyone advise what side games will be spread? I am mostly interested in any limit games up to 40/80 (especially Triple Draw, Badugi, and rotation as well as Hold'em) and PLO. I'll be out there to see a UFC match, might as well spread a little WSOP love!

I remember seeing about any type of game you want to play. Saw a good amount of lowball triple draw 300/600. Saw stud, razz, PLO...don't know if you can dictate stakes, b/c I only played 4/8, 10/20 or 1/2 NL.

Last year there was a 20/40 PLO/PLTD game at the Rio in June. I posted a trip report about it somewhere (about my feelings when I realized the dealer couldn't speak english, had never dealt pot limit, and had never heard of lowball).

I think that the only badugi I saw was down town. We tried to start a game at the Belagio, but they told us it wasn't on the 'approved' list.

What is the rake/time charge? Are there best times to find a specific variant? Can you request a game be added to the board?

Now that the Rio floor has officially opened, this thread needs to be bumped for some definitive answers.

I went last year and played mostly 20/40 limit. The games were decent, not as good as the Bellagio 30/60 though.

The next limit up was 50/100 which was usually shorthanded, though I was there only during the very early events, so it may be more crowded later.

The rake was decent for the 20/40, very close to the Mirage game to give you an idea. Max $4 for very big pots. Not sure if they do time or rake for the 50/100. One of the big obstacles was lack of $10 chips, not sure if they have those this year.

Edit: Didn't play anything other than Hold 'em.

Are you sure on this? I played a Limit WSOP event last year and played a cash side game on one day there and I could have swore I played 40/80 or 30/60.
I do remember though that there was no $10 chips in the game. Was mix of greens and reds.

Raymer was playing a "rainbow" side cash game with Ted Forrest and others - (300-600 I think) in one of the Cardplayer interviews at last years WSOP. They had to call it that cause "Badugi" wasn't allowed.

Anyone been there yet? Are the satellites running well at all yet? Thinking about dropping by but don't to drive all the way down there...

I will be there tomorrow, I'll update cash game news if nobody hasn't yet.

And yes, satellites are running in full force...a friend pre-registered yesterday for two events and said it was very busy.
