SobeDude,
This looks like a pretty standard call. I think the mistake you are making, and possibly something that was lost in translation when the hand was discussed with Fischman/Mizrachi, is that while your stack is large for the tournament, you're still totally vulnerable. You've got 20xBB. Lose one allin to a medium stack and you're back in pushbot poker. It's not like you are going to be "outplaying" people. So here, if the call is +cEV (which, given a reasonable pushing range, it definitely is), you should take it. edit: Just kinda realized that I didn't really write anything new here, just combined a couple of thoughts from different posts above. So yeah, I agree with those guys. |

Ask Phil Ivey what he would do. Would love to do just that. -Scott [/ QUOTE ] My point is that everyone knows exactly what Phil Ivey would do here, so its not really worthwhile to try to ask him. We also know what Fossilman would do. Also they are both pretty good at poker too. |

I think this discussion really proves one thing perfectly. If people know the results of the hand it affects their response to the question. After reading the thread on P5's where they immediately state the outcome of what the villian had and who won the hand, the majority of people over there advocate a preflop fold. Since the result was never mentioned on this 2+2 thread, the answers are MUCH less biased. So basically if you know the guy has a mid pair and you will go unimproved it is an easy fold.
