And for what it's worth, because of my broader range that I'd give MP, I think this is an easy call with 99. But if my range for pushing is off, then my reasons for calling would be off too obviously.

Without a better picture of the table answering this question is almost impossible because it is up the each poster to define their own range, therefore 2 posters could both be right given their own divergent ranges and be arguing two distinctly different lines. I think it goes without saying, if the initial range or broader is what were going with then it is a call. However, IMHO that range is way too broad and I would side more with curtains, I doubt the raiser is pushing the cornucopia of hands that was brainstormed earlier in this thread. I would suggest something like AT+, A7s+, KQs, 88+

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 47.7313 % 47.10% 00.63% { 99 } Hand 2: 52.2687 % 51.63% 00.63% { 88+, A7s+, KQs, ATo+ } I think this is the range I'd give an unknown on a new table in this situation. I'd probably fold unless my gut told me to call. I dunno. |

IMO the only hand I think you should be concerned about is TT. I feel open pushing with JJ or higher with 11BB is just out of the ordinary, but I could see an open push with TT hoping to pick up the blinds at best and at worst be in a flip and see all 5 cards. So I am calling here with 99 and hope to see villain turn over 88. =D

So what is your line with a higher pair? Open raise 3x BB and let others come for the ride for cheap? Maybe 4x BB and all but committ yourself, the range is a lot more and <TT.

Wouldnt the line be call or fold since there was the open push?
If I was vilian I and had a higher pair, yes I would raise 3x BB and push to a raise/call a push. JJ or better has a lot more value than a medium PP or overcards. If an over hits the board I still CB in effort to take down pot at the flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'd probably take AA/KK out of this range, or assign it a lower weighted average - not many people open-push AA/KK with 11BB I'd also probably add KJ in there, and 66-77 FWIW, calling off my stack about 50/50 isn't something I'm eager to do in such a good stealing spot - I fold and would rather push 23o next hand then call this |
