Re: Sexton Look-Alike

I've played with that guy. He's usually at the 6/12 HE. Tightish, but I don't remember anything remarkable about his play.

Re: Using pot equity to decide between raising or calling

The example you quoted was meant to be headsup. But I didn't make that clear at all.

IWTSTH rule and the muck

So I was playing like 6/12HE at Bay 101 and this complete donk shows up to the table.

Example: I have ATo, he has TT, third guy has 88, flop comes A8x. I bet, he raises, third guy raises all-in,...

Re: Top and bottom pair flop question

If the other guy is drawing, your hand holds up more often than his draw hits (unless he has a straight draw and a flush draw). Build the pot for yourself.

Re: Using pot equity to decide between raising or calling

You pot equity is the percentage you get of every dollar that goes into the pot. In poker, every person who wants to continue has to put in the same amount of money (except for all-ins of course)....

Re: Middle pair against UTG raiser (2/4)

I agree he has odds to call the 3-bet on the flop.

Re: over over aggro on this draw?

I'm guessing you lost the pot to someone with some sort of lame flush, but I think overall your play is fine. Betting the river and check/calling is pretty close. I always play top pair + nut flush...

Re: Tu madre!

I argue it's more than 50% if the time due to how much you lose when you get 4-bet by a better hand. The exact number depends on your opponent. In this particular situation, you'll get 4-bet by a...

Re: a different blind steal

If they are likely to call a raise pre-flop but play fit or fold on the flop, wont you make more money in the long run by raising pre-flop? If they roll over pre-flop, you make the same amount. If...

Re: Tu madre!

I don't see how pot size affects the decision to three bet or not at the river. Assuming you are not folding to a 4 bet, you've already won what's in the middle or you haven't. When faced with a...

Re: Vegas 8/16-10/20 or Commerce 9/18?

If you can afford it, just take the shot in either place. The difference is mostly the scared money factor. If you are used to playing 6/12, 8/16 is only 25% bigger anyway?

Re: pp 2/4: top set KK OESD broadway board

Free showdown? The only hands that will give a free showdown if the OP doesn't improve are ones that he has beat. No way, unless the turn bettor only has a 9. An ace will 3-bet. Even a 9 might 3-bet...

Bay 101 6/12 Blind Stealing Question

Attacking the blinds with marginal hands has been a normal part of my game, but this summer (due to a summer job) I've had the opportunity to play a lot at Bay 101 and the rake structure has made me...

Re: Tricks for paying attention while playing live?

I play a lot live and even I am guilty of not paying attention when I am not in the hand, but I try to use hands to get information (mostly on betting patterns/habits). This is especially important...

Re: Floor ruling - who\'s fault is this?

Something similar happened to me a while back. Live game at a casino. Two limpers, I call in the SB, raised pre-flop by the BB. The cards are not really important. Flop comes, I take a second to look...
