Default A set nine\'s but how to make it shine?

Just switched from limit to nl today for the first time. So here's my first hand that I had trouble with. Looks good?

SB ($66.11)
BB ($69)
Hero ($51.49)
MP ($65.75)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
Hero raises to $1.5, 2 folds, SB (poster) calls $1.25, BB calls $1.

Flop: ($4.50) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $1, SB calls $1, BB calls $1.

Turn: ($7.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $5, SB folds, BB calls $5.

River: ($17.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets $12.25, Hero calls $43.99 (All-In), BB calls $31.74.

bet more on flop, they can't really give you credit for the hand you have now

other than that, ni han

you have to bet the pot on the flop. obviously push the river as played, but 78 got there and JQhh backdoored the nuts. if they're drawing, trust me, they'll call a real bet.

As others have said, flop bet is really bad, other than that it looks good.

This looks perfect to me. Could i get your partypoker name by any chance? but on a serious note, i just call this BB bet, im pretty sure he has a straight the way he played it, but i suppose it could be a poorly played 2 pair.

There are a couple things I don't like about this hand. Others feel free to comment. First I usually only raise to 4x BB (+1 BB) per limper. Raising to 6x isn't a big deal and alot of players make arguments that raising at least 4x is good so 6x is fine. On the flop, that is a draw heavy board. Bet the pot. Turn bet is better, but I'm still betting heavier than 2/3 pot when there are two others in the pot and I think someone is drawing for a straight or flush or possibly both. River, I typically just call here. Going over top usually is only going to get called by a straight. Possibly a misplayed two pair if your lucky. If he has a busted flush or just a pair I don't think he is calling that all-in. He could be a bad player and you might make money in this spot, but in the long run, I think that river raise is -EV.
