Did I slowplay too much? Bottom set on drawy board.
I had no reads at this point; later I found out UTG was a sucker, but I didn't know at the time.

YES. At all is too much, in about 99% of cases.

and you didn't put him AI on the turn why?... He had almost half his stack in the middle and he's 3betting you, he obviously likes his hand enough to put it in now why wait for a scare card on the river?

Re: Did I slowplay too much? Bottom set on drawy board.
Sometimes you can slow play a set if there are no draws. In this case there is a flush draw and a straight draw out there.
What are you waiting for exactly? If the flush hits you might be beat and your action will pretty much end. Get your money in on the flop before the scare cards hit. That is the most profitable way to play a set IMO. |

Joe,
Welcome. No. There is almost never a time to slowplay sets for more than 1 street, and even then thats a lot. |

Re: Did I slowplay too much? Bottom set on drawy board.
Why would you slowplay this at all?
You have an UTG raiser(probably has big cards), betting the flop(that also has big cards). It is likely that the flop hit him pretty good, and since people are willing to go broke with TP in these spots I'd just get it in as quick as possible. |

Agree with all of the above posters - the turn is an easy all-in after villain 3-bets.

Re: Did I slowplay too much? Bottom set on drawy board.
I now know I should've moved in after his turn rr... I didn't because I wanted him to bet his hand for me, but that was a bad play given the board... but what about the flop?
I just called the flop in the hopes he'd make another continuation bet with air. Some of you think it's ok to slowplay here. (by the way, dbitel, I lost the hand to his kings full of jacks. Today I learned that bottom sets can lose this way. I know it's pretty obvious but I had played over 200k hands and never saw this, until it happened to me twice today ) |

Every street is awful except preflop.
