Medium pairs in early position
What do you think is the best way to play a medium pair when you limp in early postition and the flop comes relatively low cards. For example, you limp in with a pair of sixes or sevens and the flop comes 3-4-9 or 3-4-10.
How do you usually play it when there has been no raise pre-flop and you are against 3-4 players? How do you like to play it when there is a pre-flop raise from late position? How much of a difference does a it make if there is a flush draw on the board? I know this is a tough question to answer because it is so situation dependent, but let's discuss basic strategy adding in some qualifications if you like. |

Bet, and then play poker.

Re: Medium pairs in early position
If the pot was limped, bet. You have no reason to think your hand isn't the best right now, but another free card could change that quickly.
If the pot was raised by somebody in later position, leading, C/Cing, C/Fing, and C/Ring are all valid options depending on that particular player: against a TP or LP: c/f against a TAG: bet/fold or c/c, lead turn against a LAG: c/r or c/c |
